In 2014, after 10 years in the New Zealand Army, Cara Constable and husband Phil, moved their family from Palmerston North to Taupo.

Soon there after, Cara decide to pursue her love of working with food and enrolled to study at Waiariki Institute of Technology (Toi Ohomai).

​

At the completion of her studying Cara opened her small business, baking part time in a shared kitchen and selling her hand crafted goods at The Taupo Market on a Saturday morning.

​

Since then, Cara and Phil have grown Constables Kitchen into what exists today: One of Taupo's leading names in quality food, operating from Taupo's premium event venue; The Lake Taupo Yacht Club.

​
